The EKG Technician program is a 6 week program. One of the primary diagnostic tools physicians rely upon when they suspect the presence of heart disease is the electrocardiograph machine. An EKG Technician is responsible for performing electrocardiogram tests in order to record and monitor electrical impulses transmitted by the heart. Students will learn to interpret EKG readings. EKG Technicians assists a physician in diagnosing and treating cardiac and blood vessel irregularities. These tests include basic EKG’s, Holter Monitoring (portable EKG machines), and Stress tests.

 

Length: 6 Weeks, Day/Time: 2 Nights/Week-Tues & Thurs, 6:30pm-8:30pm

 

Must obtain CPR Certification

 

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS:  

-Complete an Application ($30 registration fee) and meet with the Admissions officer

-Photo ID

-High School Diploma or GED

-National Criminal Background Check

-Immunization Records (MMR and TD and Hepatitis B Series)

-Drug Screen Results

-Tuition Payment is due in full prior to start of class

-All new students must attend New Student Orientation and provide all required documents, prior to class start date.

EKG Caliper (may be purchased from the school)

New Textbook retail price: approx. $60

Women: Red scrub set with white close toed shoes

Men: Black scrub set with white close toed shoes
